Raw Evening at Closer II: Raw Cheese, Chocolate and Wine Pairing


Talk about decadent! Yes, you read correctly – raw cheese. Finally. And trust me, this cheese is really something! Now I know wine isn’t exactly considered to be part of the raw diet so if you are an old hand at the raw thing and no longer consume any alcoholic beverages, kudos for you; we follow in your footsteps. But for those of you transitioning, and for those of you who are raw but enjoy wine with your meal occasionally, th...is is the perfect opportunity to get out of the house and be treated to a fabulous raw meal.

There will be a number of cheeses for each person to taste, paired specifically with a white wine, a rosé and two darker, more complex red wines. All wines will be vegan and organic. A raw vegan pasta will be served as main course, followed by a sweeter cheese paired with a dessert wine. To
finish off the evening, an assortment of raw chocolates will be served.

During the course of the evening the cheese maker and chocolatier will talk about their brands and answer any questions you might have.

Chocolate Love affair.....

It seems that there is a whole lot to learn about raw chocolate. Unfortunately chocolate is still for treats, gifts, moments of pleasure and sweet dessert fantasy and not so much a food to replace all other foods. But luckily, life is full of all those gorgeous moments where chocolate makes sense so why not enjoy them with a chocolate that is free of sugar, processed milk products, and other wierd stuff (take the time to read the ingredient labels on chocolate bars).

Raw chocolate is a far healthier way to enjoy chocolate, especially combined with other heavenly foods such as good quality nuts and dried fruits. New tastes are on their way such as blueberry and pecan, walnut and fig, and maca, mint and cranberry..... such goddess juciness. yum!

Chocolate. I promise to love, honor and enjoy.

So many of us enjoy in our own special relationship with a substance called chocolate. It makes for one of the most satisfying companions in lucious alone time as well as a favorite gift to share with a friend or lover. Like a good glass of vino it can take you on a journey and revive a love of life and all the gorgeousness that surrounds us.

With life outside the box we invite you to take a journey with us as we explore the love affair between Poetry and Chocolate.

Chocolate that's good for us? Could it be? A whole new level of heaven on earth revealed. Still a substance to be enjoyed with a respect for its properties and history. Superfoods have presented us with a new way of accessing chocolate in its most raw and unprocessed state and it is with these organic ingredients that rivers of chocolate are beginning to flow through mounds of fresh nuts, cranberries, heaps of ginger, fiery chili and bitter orange.

The chocolate contains all organic superfood ingredients and if you don't know exactly what this means check out this website to discover a whole world of high frequency superfoods. The chocolate is raw which means it has not been heated above 46 degrees to preserve all of the nutrients and properties of the ingredients. As we experiment with different flavours and varieties of chocolate experience, we seek only the finest and freshest ingredients, but may also experiment with cooked concoctions -  if you are a strict raw foodist please check which varieties are 100% raw.

Otherwise, our chocolate is vegan, sugar-free and lactose free. We use Agave Nectar which is a low GI sweetener.

About the poet:


…resounds endless laughter, as I exist within a dreamscape, where I persist with unbridled idealism. This world is so beautiful and people amazing, I get so excited, with the pure potential of everything, sometimes I fear I might explode, therefore, I write to prevent this. Although, I only write on those well meaning days, when I’m able to hear the whispers of inspirations song that birth the poems and place the words where they belong. I delve into the world of the invisible and by the tick a ti tick of my typewriter give voice to these quivers of consciousness that are bursting to be realized and made alive by the medium of prose.
